A Podiatrist Tests a Cheap Temu Work Boot
This inexpensive Temu work boot looks convincing and feels very light, but it performs poorly in the support tests used in the podiatry clinic. The boot bends through the midfoot and can be twisted almost completely around by hand.
Little Structure Around the Foot
The heel counter is soft, the insole is thin foam and the sole uses a single-density construction without a separate cushioned midsole. Together, these parts provide little resistance to bending, twisting or compression.
Concerns About Grip and Toe Space
The outsole is described as slippery rather than slip resistant. Inside the forefoot, the low steel toe cap creates a drop of about four to five millimetres, reducing the available space above the toes. Steel eyelets would also trigger airport metal detectors.
Thin Materials
The synthetic upper is thin and there is very little padding below the collar around the heel. The clinic’s initial assessment is that light weight is the boot’s main positive feature, while its structure, cushioning, grip and internal space all fall short.
